At Home Weight Training
60Weight training is very important to any weight loss and muscle building goals.
At home weight training has many benefits that make it more appealing.
Some of the benefits of weight training a home are:
- You can work out at any hour of the day making it very convenient for people that were at somewhat odd hours or very limited on time.
- You can have ultimate privacy and not feel self-conscious about others watching you or critiquing your routine. Often weight training routine can be very intimidating for someone that is just starting out with weight training. Also obese and morbidly obese people do not feel comfortable working out at a gym where they may feel as though people are staring at them. If they work out of a home those fears no longer matter.
- You can wear whatever you like without the need of having to style your hair, do your makeup or even where matching workout gear. As long as you're wearing clothing that is not restrictive and allows your skin to breathe then go for it.
- It's ideal for busy moms. No need for a babysitter you can workout when your children are occupied with an activity such as coloring, playing with their toys or watching their favorite video. Although I used to find that the best time for me to work out with when my son was napping.
- One of the best things about working on a home is that you don't have to share equipment with other people. They are no lines or waiting for people to finish with a piece of equipment that you may need.
As you can see there are plenty of appealing benefits that would make at home weight training very appealing however; there are just a few drawbacks.
- You may not have the equipment needed at home to conduct enough weight training exercises.
- The cost of purchasing your basic equipment could run anywhere from $500 up to $2000.
- You are all alone and have no one to help spot you during heavy and hard training exercises.
- Probably the biggest drawback for at-home weight training is a lack of motivation. Very easy to get distracted by things around the home such as chores, the phone ringing, getting caught up on checking your e-mail on the computer or drop in guests.
If you feel that at home weight training is definitely for you than one alternative to expensive weight training equipment for your home, would be to purchase a weight training program DVD such as Power 90 or Chalean Extreme. Both of these weight training workout programs are very affordable running at about $80-$130.00. And some equipment is included with the programs but you will need to purchase some free weights which will be another $25-$50 investment.
Both of these programs are true to their claims about trimming, toning and building muscle. I personally had success with the power 90 program and was able to lose 25 pounds and shape my body.
Another good tip for weight training at home is to use weight training software to keep track of your progress.
At home weight training is doable if you are committed to your program and make the effort to just do it.
