Cupid dating sites are nationwide and are a more localized dating site.

The cupid dating sites or more commonly known as cupid.com, seem to offer a better service than traditional and competitive online dating sites.

Not only do they offer the traditional online free profile service with the ability to search through the database but they also have “blogs”. The blogs allow for the user to write a little blurb about anything they so desire. It can be a rant or rave about dating or have nothing to do with dating at all. You can also set who can view your blog and whether or not other people are allowed to post comments on it.

Another thing the cupid dating sites have available is a forum. You have to be a paying member to actually post on the forum but you can still read them and see the various fascinating and humorous topics are being discussed there.  

Another thing about the profile set up, is that you can upload numerous photos and even set some as private. When you set selected photos as private, only the select few that you grant permission to, may view them.

One thing I am not too keen on is the “adding friends” option. Adding friend on your profile should be left up to Facebook or Myspace not a dating profile. I do not want to see all the other women that were interested in some man I am currently interested in. That can be both intimated and offensive.

One of the best things about cupid.com’s online dating service is that the monthly fee is only $8.00 versus the other dating sites such as Yahoo personals which charges $30.00 a month. Sure, the local singles database may be smaller than yahoo’s but so far in my experience it seems that the singles that use cupid.com are seriously looking for love.

How do I know they are looking for love? The cupid dating sites are primarily a “speed dating” service. This means that people filled out the information required to go on speed dates and then they entered their free profile onto the online database. Speed daters are seriously looking for a relationship. It would be too much effort to attend one of these events and be required to talk to 12 singles when you were just looking for an easy “lay”.

I have had some good experiences with the cupid dating sites. I found things in common with men I was actually interested in and have been pursued by a few more through the online database that I would like to get to know further.
