Facial Liposuction: The Quick Way To Look Youthful
By pepperlynn76
The first part of you that anyone usually notices is your face. Sometimes there is a certain something about your face that makes you unhappy or makes you feel self-conscious. If the problem is excess fat around the face area, there is most definitely a safe procedure that can improve your look dramatically.
Excess fatty deposits around the face area such as the chin, jowls and neck can make a person look and feel older than what they really are. Diet and exercise do not seem to have any effect on the fatty deposits around the area, in which case, facial liposuction would be the answer to the problem.
Facial liposuction is a safe procedure that has helped thousands of people look and feel younger, which in turn boosts their confidence tremendously. Facial liposuction in some cases is preferable to other surgical techniques, as it minimises scarring after the procedure. It can reduce sagging skin in the neck, a double chin or hanging jowls.
The ideal candidate for facial liposuction would be someone who is healthy and within 30% of their ideal weight. Age is not a major factor in the procedure, but the more elastic the skin, the better the results. For those who do not have an elastic skin, a face-lift would be recommended after the liposuction. It is best to speak to an experienced surgeon for advice to determine whether you are a good candidate for facial liposuction.
A thin tube called a canula is inserted into a tiny incision made in an inconspicuous area in the face or neck. A suction syringe or pump is attached to the tube and the excess fat removed, re-sculpting the bulging areas. Fat removal by facial liposuction is permanent, however, some people need a fine-tuning procedure later on.
One or two stitches may be needed to close the tiny incisions. A snug elastic dressing is worn over the area for a few days, and you might be advised to wear it at night for a few weeks. There is usually a bit of discomfort with swelling and bruising after facial liposuction, so mild pain relievers and cold packs may be needed for a few days, however, this does subside in about seven to ten days. It is a relatively short process and most patients go home after the procedure and return to normal activities after about two to four days.
