How To Find The Best Chiropractors

For any situation involving health whether it is ours or our family’s we always want the best. As alternative health care is now becoming more widely accepted and since chiropractic treatment is now reimbursable as therapy we then focus our attention to the next question which is who are the best chiropractors? Whose names will I look for in directories, which office will I go to for consultation?  As chiropractors safeguard our health, choosing one is not to be taken lightly. I can offer several suggestions on how to begin identifying who the best chiropractors are. First, ask around. Talk to someone who has already been treated by a chiropractor and was pleased with the outcome. 2. Ask your medical doctor to refer you to one should the need arise. Gone are the days when medical doctors would never do such a thing. These days however more medical physicians recognize a chiropractor’s skill in the treatment of musculoskeletal concerns.  3. Coordinating with the local Chamber of Commerce or Better Business Bureau for reputable Chiropractors in your area is also helpful. An adjunct to the first step of looking for the best chiropractors should be to check the qualifications and certifications of you potential chiropractor.

If you are a “list or survey” person, the Consumers' Research Council of America has compiled a list of the best Chiropractors throughout the United States. They utilized a point value system. The point values for the criteria are as follows: Experience (each year the chiropractor has been practicing), Training (Education, specialty training), and professional associations (affiliates or members of associations). This is a very simple procedure as per points. And only touches on the factual side of things so as to set aside subjective observation or comments. This does not mean though that if one is not on the list he/she is not one of the best chiropractors. It just means that they did not qualify for this particular list.

When we are looking for the best chiropractors we usually have a stereotype, someone maybe late 30’s to 40’s who is well built and muscled from years of delivering hands on treatment to patients. The best chiropractors might just surprise you. We can compile lists and have ideas of what they should look like in our minds but at the end of the day the chiropractic physician who listens to his patients and learns thru his experiences and the experiences of others becomes our best chiropractors. The physicians whose unwavering goal is to serve to the best of their ability is the kind who inspires others and whom other chiropractors turn to for mentoring.
