Looking For Cheap Liposuction?

By

The word “cheap” is associated with low-grade, reduced, poor, or inferior quality, even bargain-priced, and anything to do with half-baked, substandard merchandise or service.

Cheap liposuction is just fiction for someone whose yearly income is at rock bottom and a reality for those who are affluent and comfortable, although the rich would most definitely go to a first class establishment and have the procedure done by an experienced surgeon. In the United States, the percentage of average-income families is greater than the percentage of rich families. The pricing of a liposuction procedure is determined by the area of the body, the amount of fat to be removed, the establishment, the surgeon, miscellaneous expenses, such as operating room costs, lab work and anesthetic fee. The average cost per body part per procedure is approximately $5,300.

Below is an estimate of the cost of each body part:

  • Upper and Lower Abdomen: $3,000 - $7,500
  • Arms: $1,500 - $5,000
  • Back: $1,500 - $4,000
  • Breasts: $3,000 - $7,500
  • Buttocks: $1,500 - $4,500
  • Chin, Cheeks, Jowls, Neck: $2,000 - $4,500
  • Flanks: $2,000 - $5,000
  • Anterior Thighs and Knees: $2,000 - $5,000
  • Inner Thighs and Knees: $2,000 - $5,000
  • Hips/Waist: $1,600 - $5,000
  • Outer Thighs: $1,600 - $5,000

Cheap liposuction may be possible. However, one must not sacrifice quality when it comes to cosmetic surgery such as liposuction. The price may be one’s health. There are, of course, more affordable means of having a liposuction performed by experienced surgeons.

One way is to request financing from the surgeon. Most surgeons have working relationships with local financing firms. Since liposuction is elective and cosmetic in nature, it is not usually covered by your health insurance, although if it is due to therapeutic reasons, like breast reduction to ease shoulder pain and back pain or lymphedema, there is a possibility that it can be covered. It is best to ask one’s health insurance about this.

Medical Tourism is another choice. It is when a patient goes to another country for medical procedures such as plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, heart replacement, hip replacement, fertility work up and cancer treatment. Liposuction can be more affordable abroad. In fact, some websites show that savings may be up to 50 percent. However intensive research is necessary if liposuction or any medical procedure is being considered in another country. Internet search should not be the only source of information since what is written in websites is not easily verifiable. Journals and patients’ feedback may be best.
