Online Music Service
51Listening to music while you search the internet or even work on the PC can quickly pass time and make the day more enjoyable.
Listening to music online also offers more variety than just listenign to preloaded music from your iTunes library or a local radio station.
There are many online music services but some services limit your playlists, prevent you from creating personal playlists or "stations" or just don't offer a wide variety of artists and bands.
My favorite online music service is Jango. Jango is completely free to use, free too set up personal stations, has unlimited play time and offers a few cool ways to interract with other listeners.
You can create a station that plays the artists and bands that you most like. As you start listening to your station, Jango will start to play various songs form those artists spread over various albums that are available. As the songs play you can then click on a certain smiley face to indicate to jango whether or not you like a song or not. You essentailly rate the music and you can even prevent Jango from ever playing the song again by clicking on the appropriate smiley face.
Jango will also introduce you to new music based on current artists and bands you are listening too. It will play new music that is tagged with the same genre or tagged by being similar in sound. I love this feature because I get exposed to new bands I may not have heard of before and find that I suddenly love them!
You can also search for music by entering the artis name or name of the song.
Another cool feature is that you can listen to other "stations" created by other Jango users and expand your listening experience.
Jango is a social network in which you can add other Jango users to your friends list. You can then interract with them by commenting on their page, give them a shoutout or send them a private message. You can also listen to their created radio stations!
I have been a faithful Jango user for over a year now and I love everything about it. After trying Last.fm and Imeem; Jango still has me hooked for the best online music service.
