Why We Need To Rethink Chiropractor Marketing
52There was a time in our history when the lives of physicians were much simpler. They graduated, worked in a hospital or a private clinic, said institution would be the one to provide the patients/clients to them and they could dedicate most of their time updating themselves with the latest techniques and findings in order to provide better service. Being accomplished then was measured by how successful a physician was with their patients, those who continually listened and learned, the whole time they were actively practicing. The measure of success now it seems has an added facet to it, and that would be marketing.
For chiropractors, chiropractor marketing is an integral part of their practice. After all being “the best kept secret in town” although flattering does not further the chiropractic physician’s service to the community. At the heart of every health care professional and more so the chiropractic physician is the need to serve. If the chiropractor marketing techniques used by said physician is not effective how then can he or she fulfill their ultimate purpose of community service.
Chiropractor marketing has changed drastically in recent years. With the growth of towns into cities and the advent of the information age the simple networking method and referrals by word of mouth can no longer address the needs of our physicians. Techniques that used to be effective are out of date or yield minimal results therefore more creative ways to reach out to clients have to be put in place.
Given that Chiropractic is the fastest-growing healthcare profession in the U.S. and that there are over 30 million patients who have incorporated chiropractic in their healthcare program why then are chiropractors struggling with their individual chiropractor marketing goals? There seems to be two general obstacles for the chiropractic doctor. First is education. People know alternative therapies are effective and actively search for them but how can they avail of the service if they don’t know how it can help them. Secondly they do not know how to find a chiropractic doctor. In our fast paced life style the word of mouth or referral technique is lost in the “I don’t have time to chat” way of thinking. So when choosing a chiropractor marketing technique or approach one has to keep in mind these two obstacles and make sure that they are addressed. Otherwise once again the gains will only be minimal.
The amount of Chiropractors in the industry increase every year. There seem to be the most practices in the Los Angelos area. if you are looking for chiropractors LA, be sure to check my related hubs.
